How Long Should You Be Dating Before You Get Married?
November 7th, 2011So, after the riviting news this past weekend that Kim Kardashian was divorcing her husband, Kris, we ask ourselves how soon should one wed?
I have met a few people in my lifetime that knew the instant they met their companion that he/she was the one they wanted to spend the rest of their lives with. For the rest of us when is the right time to wed?
The experts agree that one should wait a year to make sure you’re really a match. It has been said it takes 6 months or so to remove the love goggles. At this time you settle into your routines and begin to see who the other person really is…do they do their own laundry or how often do they clean the bathroom? Also, those quirky behaviors that you found cute at that time may not be so cute. You’ll discover over time if your partner wants kids, how they handle finances, and those other personal questions that can make or break a marriage.
So, ask yourself what’s the rush? Take your time finding the right partner and enjoy the time you have together, growing and discovering each other’s quirks. Remember that no one’s perfect and over time you may discover that you found the perfect companion you want to spend the rest of your life with!
Cheers!
How to Attract Better Guys?
November 4th, 2011Do you find yourself attracting your ex’s look and personality? Are you looking for Mr. Prince charming or Mr. Big? Someone to rescue you and who possesses all the qualities you see in these rich and famous superstars?
Before going on your next date ask yourself what is it that you want in your partner? Make your list! Make this list and continue to revisit it until you find that perfect guy for you. Remember, you can not always judge a book by it’s cover, so listen to the facts first and then act.
Be yourself–do not lead someone to believe you are something you are not…this will not get you anywhere!
Most importantly–have fun!
He’s Just Not That Into You
November 3rd, 2009He’s just not that into you…or maybe it isn’t YOU at all. What happens when you think you have met the man of your dreams, and he tells you right from the VERY beginning that he just is not looking for a serious relationship? He likes you, wants to hang out with you, but is in NO WAY, SHAPE or FORM ready for a monogamous relationship. Is he just a player? Maybe. Is he on the heels of a relationship gone bad, and still not over his hurt? If you genuinely like this guy, it is best not to compromise if you are looking for a serious relationship. Do not get emotionally attached if you do happen to be romantically involved, and if you are unable to separate the two, just be his FRIEND…that is fine. It is not about you. He may really like you and still be attracted to you, but he is clearly not the man to plan a future with. It is about where he is in his life, not about you. So, I’m not such a believer in the “he’s just not that into you, ” theory. It may go a bit deeper. Remember, take care of yourself first. No relationship is ever successful if you don’t love and respect yourself first. Never give up what you are looking for and just settle for second best. What you are looking for is out there with someone else that wants exactly what you want. Don’t worry, if you are capable of truly loving who you are and your life is on track, the man of your dreams is still out there, waiting for you.
Hints Of A Crush????
November 3rd, 2009How can you tell if someone’s really attracted to you? There are many hints or signals to pay attention to, so you’re able to really find out! Here’s what I have found that’s happened to me and other girlfriends:
- Eye Contact — Blinking more than normal and steady eye contact is a sign there’s an attraction.
- Copy-Cat — Mimicing your behavoir. When they do the same things your doing it means that their paying attention to you.
- Babbling — They try their best to find a connection with you through talking and try to avoid silence as much as possible.
- Paying Attention – Watch his actions around other girls and see if he treats you differently. Some guys flirt with other girls to get your attention
- The Clock Test – To see if a guy has been checking you out, abruptly look at the clock, then look at him really fast. If he followed your eyes to the clock, he was staring at you and was startled by your sudden movement that following your eyes is a reflex to them.
Here are just five simple signs to pay attention to next time you think you have a crush. Look for them, and let us know if anything worked for you!
